You know how some days seem to just fall into place and the world seems to be working with you. Your successful day just rolls out as you find the perfect parking spot, accomplish tasks with ease, your follow up calls end in a sale or a new client, and at the end of the day you feel your business and your life moving forward.
Then there are those days when you drag yourself out of bed, no one returns your calls or emails, your car runs out of gas, and at the end of the day you look back and feel that nothing successful was accomplished. You feel like you would have been better off if you had just stayed in bed.
It’s just that some days go better because your success stamina is high and you feel like you could conquer the world, while other days seem so challenging because your success stamina is low. The key to more successful days is to keep your success stamina high. But maintaining your success stamina daily is more complex than simply getting a good night’s sleep, saying your morning mantra, and keeping your mind on a positive note.
It’s a combined effort in the areas of mental, physical, emotional and spiritual well-being in order to keep your momentum high and your vision in front of you. Here are 6 tips to help bring your success stamina to a high level, constant companion every day:
Keep Your Eye on The Pie
No matter what challenges you see before you, you must keep your eye looking past them and focused on the goal you are going for. Each morning just take a minute to visualize achieving your desired outcome for that day. Picture yourself going through the motion of the accomplishment and hold that picture in your mind’s eye throughout your day. Possible helps for this could be a visual picture or a written card. Whatever works best for you.
Plan Your Day the Night Before
Take time each evening to plan out your next day. Choose three top priorities that you will finish to move your business/life forward. Two of these should be income generating priorities. This way you will make sure you don’t spend all your days spinning your wheels and not getting anything done that moves you forward. Write down any support resources, people, or items you will need to accomplish them. Planning your day out the night before allows your subconscious mind to work on a strategy for completing your three priorities.
Do Something Every Day That Scares You
The more you expand your comfort zone the more comfortable you will get with “being uncomfortable”. This is key in increasing your success stamina. This doesn’t have to be a huge thing. It can be a simple as taking the lead in a conversation, introduce yourself to someone you’ve been wanting to meet, or any little thing that makes you feel uncomfortable. Because as you do those little things each day your comfort zone expands larger. The key is consistency and as you are consistent things that were hard and scary become easy and like second nature.
Keep Relationships First
In this world of social media noise and information overload, we often forget that there are people out there we are serving through our products and services. Focus on getting to know your audience, their pain points, what keeps them up at night, what dreams they have. Listen to them and increase your clarity on what their needs are. You can easily do this by asking questions in your facebook groups, taking surveys, or even sitting down to talk one-on-one about what problems they have and what they feel they need to learn.
Keep Inputting Fresh Ideas
Make sure you’re always learning. From your audience, from a mentor or coach, from books and audios, from the people you serve and work with. Keeping your mind busy with updates in your industry, reading articles and books, looking at media in your area of expertise will help you keep fresh ideas running through your mind that you can file away and use later. Keeping a story stash or email or content ideas will help you feel more confident too. Go to seminars, talk to colleagues, and pursue opportunities that will improve the personal side of your life too.
Let it Go
A survey showed that 80% of what we think about already happened. Don’t waste your time and precious energy thinking about what you did not get done yesterday, why you didn’t get the sale, what you should have said in your presentation. Do a quick review of your previous day, or project, webinar, or speech and then LET IT GO. Dwelling on yesterday’s mistakes depletes your success stamina for today and tomorrow. Instead keep your mantras, favorite quotes, and inspirational pictures in your mind and in your sight as much as possible. It will soon become a habit to easily pull those into fruition.
To keep yourself in action and to keep everything flowing in the right direction for high success stamina choose one of the above tips to work on each day. Then when you are having a great day, when things are clicking and going right, when everything and everyone seems to be on your side and your success stamina is high, don’t cut your day short! This is the time to work late, make that extra phone call, or write one more email. Go with the momentum you’re having. And if your day isn’t going so well, try to do something that still ends your day on a positive note.
