This year’s winter storms have caused many of us to struggle to get to our destinations this holiday season. I headed out with my family to Oregon from Idaho to visit my 93 year “young” father and found myself in one of those winter storms. At first, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to attempt it, people warned me of the dangers of traveling in this kind of weather. But I was raised in snow country and felt confident I could easily make the 2-hour trip.

Have you been thinking about having a strong finish to 2016? Another year is ending and we are preparing for a new one. But this is the time of the year we sometimes start looking toward January and the new diet we want to start,  the new exercise program we want to be on, and how much money we want to earn in the new year and we forget about finishing out on this year.

In this age of information, we have a world of resources at our fingertips. We have more teachers, coaches, mentors, and “experts” at our disposal than ever before. But the most overlooked, underutilized and divinely powerful resource of them all is YOU – your own “Star Power”…your own strengths, intuition, knowledge, and inner voice. I think so many people have lost contact with their inner resources.

As Albert Einstein once said, “Any man who reads too much and uses his own brain too little falls into lazy habits of thinking”.

That’s right, I have to apologize because I just found out that you may not have received the last two newsletters! I just got back from some travels and discovered there were some technical glitches that were there but not seen by me or my tech gal.   #shouldabeenwatchin!  Man when something doesn’t go right it is really hard for me to accept, stop beating myself up, and move on.  Do you ever feel like that?

20161008_131309_resizedI tried something new this past weekend…dirt biking.  I’ve been an avid 4-wheeler for years and I’ve ridden on my dad’s motorcycle a few times, so I had confidence this would be a piece of cake…NOT!

My hubby and I went with some friends who are experienced dirt bikers. I told them I had some experience so I didn’t foresee any problems. We started up the first trail (which was actually a pretty tough trail…not for beginners like me) and I was having a hard time just keeping my bike headed straight on the trail.

Everyone is passionate about many things, but zeroing in on the one that will truly be your success is the trick.  All of us need a vision for our lives and as we work to achieve that vision we must remember that our passion helps create our vision.

But it won’t necessarily just come to you…you have to find it, that’s what you’re here for…to find your passion and the potential it holds for you,

A confidence crash is when something happens that makes it so our confidence plummets to an all-time low.  Many of our confidence crashes come when we are looking into the future at the unknown, “surfing the future”, or looking back into the past at a failure. It creates fear and doubt which knocks us down in our confidence for a while.  But if you can stay in the present, and take action from the present,

The worst beliefs you can have are ‘self-limiting” beliefs. These exist whenever you believe yourself to be limited in any way. We are where we are today because of all the beliefs we have had up until today.  I’m not talking about the fleeting thoughts that come into our mind and then are gone the next day.  I’m talking about the beliefs we dwell on, and compare ourselves to others with.

For example,

DSC_0621 - Copy (2)

I enjoy watching Cross Country (XC) running.  Probably because I have watched my daughter run for the last 5 years. I absolutely love the feeling of teamwork and competition that I get at the meets. Her XC team is like family to her, offering support and encouragement all the time.

Cross Country is not an individual sport, as many would think. The individual time for each runner doesn’t matteras much as the team score.

Last webyu-wp-3-1920ek I dropped off two of my children to their new home away from home… college.

My son was returning for his 3rd year in college, my daughter, and my baby girl, her first…

As I walked around campus, went shopping for essentials, and helped them settle in, it hit me… what a big change in life this was for all three of us!

  • My daughter is starting a new chapter in her life away from her home and her family,
