This post is a little personal. But I wanted to share it with you because it has made such a profound impact on me and how I look at overwhelming circumstances now. I don’t usually struggle with overwhelm too much because I have systems set up to get myself back on top of whatever it is that’s overwhelming me. But just recently I had events that instantly threw my life into chaos and overwhelm that I found myself struggling with.
This year’s winter storms have caused many of us to struggle to get to our destinations this holiday season. I headed out with my family to Oregon from Idaho to visit my 93 year “young” father and found myself in one of those winter storms. At first, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to attempt it, people warned me of the dangers of traveling in this kind of weather. But I was raised in snow country and felt confident I could easily make the 2-hour trip.
Have you been thinking about having a strong finish to 2016? Another year is ending and we are preparing for a new one. But this is the time of the year we sometimes start looking toward January and the new diet we want to start, the new exercise program we want to be on, and how much money we want to earn in the new year and we forget about finishing out on this year.
